🔥 Busy Night for Spring Mill Fire Company 🔥
On Monday, February 17, 2025, at 22:26 hours—just after wrapping up our weekly drill—Spring Mill Fire Company was dispatched to assist Abington Township with a large manufacturing fire at SPS Technologies.
🚒 Engine 45 responded on a 3rd-alarm assignment with a crew of six interior-certified firefighters, initially staging at Station 100 before being ordered to the fire scene. The crew operated through the early morning hours before being released around 04:30 hours.
🚨 Shortly after, Ladder 45—the tallest ladder in Montgomery County at 137 feet—was dispatched at 08:00 hours with a crew of three. Upon arrival, Ladder 45 relieved Tower Ladder 500 on the Bravo (B) side of the structure. Conditions rapidly changed as the Charlie (C) and Bravo sides became heavily involved, forcing Ladder 45 to relocate due to intense smoke and fire conditions.
🔥 Once repositioned, Ladder 45 provided ladder pipe operations until 14:30 hours, when command reassigned Tower Ladder 44 to the operation.
A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers for their hard work and to all responding agencies for their teamwork on this large-scale incident. Stay safe, and thank you for your continued support! 🚒💪 #SpringMillFire #MutualAid #FireService #AlwaysReady
