Here are a few reasons why you should help your local fire company......

A Tradition Of Excellence

In 2007, the Spring Mill Fire Company will begin their  84th year of providing fire protection  to the citizens of the community we share. Proud and dedicated professional volunteers give up precious family time to serve the Whitemarsh Township. Our volunteers are highly skilled and respected experts in the fields of fire protection. Our unpaid professionals provide these services to the many homes and businesses in the Whitemarsh Township and provide mutual-aid assistance throughout our neighboring towns and  fire companies.

On Call 24 Hours A Day........Everyday

Our highly trained staff is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2006, we responded to your calls for help a total of 153 times. Including these alarms and all of the necessary training, drills, meetings and work details, our members invested a over 300 hours protecting our community.

Maintaining The Equipment To Meet The Needs Of Our Growing Community

We have fully equipped emergency vehicles standing by to answer your calls for help. These include a state of the art Quint, a Ladder Truck, a Rescue/Air/Light Truck, an Attack Engine, 2 Water Rescue Marine Units, a Command Vehicle and a Fire Police unit. Your generous donations in the past allowed us to equip these vehicle with state-of-the-art lifesaving equipment such as:
  • Thermal Imaging Cameras, to make our interior search efforts quicker and safer.
  • Highly sensitive carbon monoxide detector
  • Hydraulic rescue tool (Jaws-of-life)
  • State of the Art portable AED units, which are used for cardiac emergencies.

Sharpening Our Skills To Meet The Highest Standards Of Service

Our volunteers invest a great amount of time training so we can continue to raise our level of care.   Our team of Rescue Technicians are known for their expertise in saving lives through the use of our "Jaws-of-life" and other specialized tools.

How Does Your Donation Get put to Use?

The cost to operate our fire service is expensive.  The following is presented to give one a feel for these expenses.  This is just the cost of items, it does NOT include our daily maintenance and upkeep expenses.

Nomex Hood - $35.00                  Fire Helmet - $300.00                   Air Pack - $3,500.00                   Fire Gloves - $45.00

Alpha Pager - $365.00                 Protective Fire Coat - $700.00    Protective Fire Pants - $500.00  Fire Boots - $250.00

Thermal Imaging Camera - $20,000.00

Total Cost to equip one firefighter: $5,695.00 (not including the Thermal Imagining Camera)

Now that you have reviewed this, it is important to note that all the labor to operate and maintain this equipment, all the time required for training and administrative duties, and all the time needed to respond to alarms is FREE!

When you write your check, just imagine the amount of extra tax dollars you would be spending each year if your local volunteers were not here!

In Kind Gifts and Services

Please take time to atleast consider an in kind gift as a way to support your Volunteer Fire Company.  Oftentimes, individuals or businesses are able to offer services or products that can be of value to us.  Office products and furniture, vehicles, excess inventory and services such as Internet support or computer programming can be contributed to the Fire Company and possibly written off as a charitable contribution for tax purposes.

If you would like more information on this program, please call President Paul Stanish at 610-825-1164.

Thank You For Your Past Financial Support!

Please take time to return your greatly appreciated donation today. THANK YOU!!!
