A Tradition Of Excellence |
|
In 2007, the
Spring Mill Fire Company will begin their 84th year of providing fire
protection to the citizens of the community we share. Proud and
dedicated professional volunteers give up precious family time to serve
the Whitemarsh Township. Our volunteers are highly skilled and respected
experts in the fields of fire protection. Our unpaid professionals
provide these services to the many homes and businesses in the
Whitemarsh Township and provide mutual-aid assistance throughout our
neighboring towns and fire companies. |

On Call 24 Hours A Day........Everyday |
|
Our highly
trained staff is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2006, we
responded to your calls for help a total of 153 times. Including these
alarms and all of the necessary training, drills, meetings and work
details, our members invested a over 300 hours protecting our
community. |

Maintaining The Equipment To Meet The Needs Of Our
Growing Community |
We have fully
equipped emergency vehicles standing by to answer your calls for help.
These include a state of the art Quint, a Ladder Truck, a
Rescue/Air/Light Truck, an Attack Engine, 2 Water Rescue Marine Units, a
Command Vehicle and a Fire Police unit. Your generous donations in the
past allowed us to equip these vehicle with state-of-the-art lifesaving
equipment such as:
- Thermal Imaging Cameras, to make our interior
search efforts quicker and safer.
- Highly sensitive carbon monoxide detector
- Hydraulic rescue tool (Jaws-of-life)
- State of the Art portable AED units, which are used
for cardiac emergencies.

Our volunteers
invest a great amount of time training so we can continue to raise our
level of care. Our team of Rescue Technicians are known for
their expertise in saving lives through the use of our "Jaws-of-life"
and other specialized tools. |

Your Donation Get put to Use? |

The cost to operate our fire service
is expensive. The following is presented to give one a feel for
these expenses. This is just the cost of items, it does NOT
include our daily maintenance and upkeep expenses.

Fire Helmet - $300.00
Air Pack - $3,500.00

Alpha Pager - $365.00

firefighter: $5,695.00 (not including the Thermal Imagining Camera)
Now that you have reviewed this,
it is important to note that all the labor to operate and maintain this
equipment, all the time required for training and administrative duties,
and all the time needed to respond to alarms is FREE!

imagine the amount of extra tax dollars you would be spending each year
if your local volunteers were not here!

an in kind gift as a way to support your Volunteer Fire Company.
Oftentimes, individuals or businesses are able to offer services or
products that can be of value to us. Office products and
furniture, vehicles, excess inventory and services such as Internet
support or computer programming can be contributed to the Fire Company
and possibly written off as a charitable contribution for tax purposes.
